Welcome to penny harvest 2010-11!

Roundtable represents!

Start off the new year with an exciting challenge! Your students will need to allocate their Penny Harvest funds. By researching needs in their community and interviewing experts in the field, your Student Leaders will decide how to allocate their funds through community grants and service projects of their choice.  Go to Make Grants in the Curriculum section for resources and tips.

The Capital region Philanthropy Roundtable professional development took place on January 20th. Be sure you have these important materials:

09/10 Highlights
  • 11 schools participated in the Penny Harvest in the Capital Region
  • All 11 schools used their Penny Harvest money to form Philanthropy Roundtables, making grants and service projects to better their communities
  • Students collected the value of 296 sacks totaling $14,802 which they transformed into 21 grants
  • Students made 5 Neighborhood Service grants to help out with their hands

09/10 Schools of Excellence

Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence is an annual distinction awarded to a select group of schools that have demonstrated excellence in all phases of the Penny Harvest: Gathering Pennies, Making Grants and Taking Action. View the 09/10 School of Excellence profiles to see how they exemplify the spirit of the Penny Harvest. Capital Region schools are encouraged to apply!
