INTRODUCTION

RAISE MONEY AND CHILDREN:
Partner with a Penny Harvest School

Your organization has the power to change young lives. Learn how.
New Grantees: start from the beginning!

The moral and civic development of children is everyone’s responsibility. As a community-based non-profit, you will play an especially critical role for Penny Harvest students: you will educate them about your cause and ignite their passion to help others…all while receiving grant money!

Some facts about the NYC/Metro NY Penny Harvest:

• NYC students in 800 schools collect about $650,000 annually.
• Students have donated to over 1,300 non-profit organizations. These grants total over 6 million dollars.
• Students also help out with their hands – last year, they engaged in 315 service projects.

But it’s not just about the numbers!

Each grant or inquiry from a group of students represents an opportunity for you to teach children about your cause and encourage their lifelong support. Use the links below as a guide through the 4 steps to maximize this opportunity and R.E.A.P. the benefits of the Penny Harvest.

Learn how to:

• Reach Out – Be visible to students by registering on The Organization Finder.
• Educate – Inspire students about what you do, why you do it, and how they can help.
• Appreciate – Recognize students for their grant so they stay engaged in your cause.
• Preserve – Strengthen the partnership over the years to maximize its benefits for the students and your organization.

Lastly, use the Tips from the Field page to see how past Penny Harvest grant recipients have followed these steps!
