SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE 09/10

Congratulations Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence 09/10!

The creativity of the applications for the fourth annual Schools of Excellence Award was truly impressive. We received over 30 applications of all shapes and sizes, ranging from CDs/DVDs to scrapbooks and student-made books from a diverse group of Penny Harvest schools.

The Penny Harvest School of Excellence selection committee – including members of the Penny Harvest NYC Advisory Board and Common Cents senior staff –scored the applications on the basis of the demonstrated quality of their program, the depth of their described program innovations and the overall detail and presentation of their application.

Ultimately, 6 schools were awarded the highest honors as Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence 09/10 for scoring in the Top 20%, 10 were awarded first honors as a Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence 09/10 for scoring in the Top 50%, and 16 schools received the Penny Harvest Schools of Excellence 09/10 distinction by our senior staff and Advisory Board.

All 32 schools will receive their certificates of recognition and be recognized at our Penny Harvest Professional Development sessions in the Fall. Stay tuned for live updates in September!
