COACHES: Mid-Harvest Estimates (MHEs) are due on Thursday, November 13th. MHEs can be submitted online or can be downloaded and faxed to 206.957.2677. Please remember to estimate the number of sacks you think your school will have at the END of the harvest.

missed the professional development sessions?

Penny Harvest Professional Development sessions were held on September 25, October 3, October 13 and October 18. If you were unable to attend the training, please contact Maryellen at maryellenf@solid-ground.org to schedule a site visit or phone training.

Download a Supplemental Guide with information about the Mid-Harvest Estimate and Penny Pick-Up.

Getting started

Now that you've attended a Professional Development session and are back at school, use your curriculum guide and Penny Harvest Office to get started. Visit the Curriculum website page to download lessons, letter, and other useful templates.

As you will see, the first step is to tell your colleagues and principal what the Penny Harvest is all about. See pages 3 and 4 in the Curriculum Guide for some tips engaging your entire school during the harvest.

Next, you will recruit your student leadership team, have leaders harvest first, and work with them to plan your school's Wheel Of Caring and Kick-Off Assembly. Pages 6-19 in the Curriculum Guide will help you to convene your leaders and prepare for the harvest to officially begin.

Don't forget to take photos of your student leadership team, Wheel of Caring, bulletin board and at your Kick-Off Assembly! Please email any photos you would like to be considered for the website and other program materials to Maryellen at maryellenf@solid-ground.org. All submitted photos must be accompanied by a Media Release Form for each student pictured.
